Absences of more than seven calendar days

If an employee is unable to return to work on the seventh day (fifth working day), JTL must again be notified of the continuing illness. The employee must return the company Absence Statement for the period of illness from one to seven days (five working days). Without such a form, eligible employees will put at risk their right to Statutory Sick Pay for that period.

Any absence of more than seven days (five working days) must be covered by a Medical Practitioner’s statement. Employees must call in or visit a Medical Practitioner and obtain a medical statement; where practitioners charge for provision settlement will be the responsibility of the employee. This statement must be submitted to JTL’s Human Resources Department by no later than the eighth calendar day of absence. Any further statements should also be forwarded in the same way.
