Medical Examinations

There are occasions when it is to the benefit of both JTL and the employee that medical fitness for duties should be checked. Subject to the terms of the Access to Medical Reports Act 1988, an employee is required to permit an examination by a Medical Practitioner nominated by JTL if so requested. This examination will be made at JTL’s expense.

The employee will be required to sign a consent form permitting an approach to be made, by the Company’s Doctor, to their Medical Practitioner. The opportunity will be given for the employee to see a copy of the report either before or at the time it is sent to JTL’s designated Company Doctor.

JTL reserves the right to require an employee to consent to a medical examination by a nominated doctor after any significant period of illness.
